Most of us cannot stand the garbage-strewn streets of our towns and cities. They’re filthy and smelly and hotbeds of killer germs. But most of us do nothing about them but complain.
So it’s clear that it takes a special kind of entrepreneurial mind to spot a commercial opportunity in something millions of people see and talk about every day – but overlook. That’s the kind of mind Debartha Banerjee, Jayanth Nataraju and Ritvik Rao have. The three graduates of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, saw the rubbish-filled streets of the city and started a profitable business called Sampurn(e)arth Environment Solutions, providing customised waste management solutions to over 75 clients, including large corporations like Tata Power, and smaller entities like housing complexes.
