In a world saturated with marketing pitches, Kimik Studios seeks to humanise digital marketing strategies. After observing that Small & Medium Enterprises (SMES) were often resistant to embrace digital marketing, founders Mikhil Nayyar and Anshul Kapila decided to dispel the myth that such marketing was only for large companies with big budgets. Leveraging their work experience with several national and international digital agencies, Mikhil and Anshul established Kimik Studios in 2016 in Delhi-NCR, and are empowering small businesses to market like the big brands. Streamlining social media is one way in which this upcoming digital marketing agency is bringing about a drastic shift in the way SMEs market today.

In conversation with GlobalLinker (GL) Mikhil Nayyar (MN) shares the journey of his company.

GL: Tell us about your business.

MN: Kimik Studios is a digital marketing agency established in June 2016. The company deals with various technologies to empower digital marketing for brands or businesses. Depending on the nature of the business, Kimik Studios creates strategies for promoting them on digital media platforms. The company offers services like Social Media Marketing, Digital Marketing, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Website Development, Content Curation and Pixel Perfect Designs. With 15 team members, Kimik Studios focuses on its client’s brand identity in this cutthroat competitive market. The company has a clientele from all across the country and operates from New Delhi.

After working in both national and multi-national digital agencies, I found out that not many companies are ready to go down to small businesses and promote them digitally. It was believed that digital marketing is for major brands and businesses only and require huge monetary investment for execution. We started Kimik Studios with the vision to dispel that myth and take digital marketing mediums to the smallest of the brands/businesses out there in the market.

GL: What are the challenges you have faced in establishing your business?

MN: I believe establishing a startup has its own challenges. Some of them are identifying the right talent to hire, retaining clients and convincing them about the importance of this type of marketing. However, currently, we are successful in creating a balance between, maintaining a low attrition rate with retention of clients.

GL: How did you hear of GlobalLinker? How has it helped you?

MN: I remember getting a GlobalLinker newsletter and once I read about the platform, I was excited to join it to grow my business network. GlobalLinker has helped me to connect with like-minded people from India and abroad. We might be converting our first lead through GlobalLinker.

GL: What is your big business dream?

MN: With Kimik Studios, I want to humanise businesses and brands. I want to provide the best  platforms for social media strategies and campaigns for every industry tailored to an individual business. With a customised social media strategy, I want to ensure an open communication between the brand and the customer.

GL: What is your message to aspiring entrepreneurs?

MN: It is not mandatory to follow all the advice you receive, sometimes you have to follow your own instincts. Focus on building relationships and stay close to your clients. There is a certain amount of fear in starting your own venture but that fear is short-lived. If you are focused on your work, you won’t get much time to feel fearful or even be concerned by the negativity around you. Constant dedication with execution to be a better you, every day, is the key to being a successful entrepreneur. Be strategic, work strategically.
