However the price of being connected is that we are exposed to a multitude of potentially harmful radiations from computers, wi-fi routers, mobile phones and towers. Syenergy Environics Limited is a company that is addressing these health hazards by providing radiation management solutions in homes and workplaces.

In conversation with GlobalLinker (GL) Pranav Poddar (PP), second generation entrepreneur & Director at Syenergy Environics, shares how their company is committed to safeguarding the health & wellness of human beings. Their latest innovative product is the Envirochip which is a radiation protection chip that can be fixed on a Mobile Phone, Laptop, Tablet PC and Wi-Fi router and which completely neutralizes the harmful effect of electromagnetic radiation.

GL: Tell us about your business & how it came into being.
 

PP: Our business group’s philosophy has always been to do businesses that helps people solve a challenge that has not been solved as yet and the solution should take care of the environment also. In the health & wellness space, we came across numerous companies selling services and products for people to buy and use to improve their personal health. 
 

We are all aware of the other do-it-yourself techniques like yoga, meditation, etc to improve one’s health. While there are many people who try to take care of their personal health by eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly and through various other ways, we know that there is still a very high percentage of the population who are not that motivated to actually do something actively to improve their health and wellbeing. Even organisations talk about increasing their productivity by taking up various initiatives and spending a lot of money to do so. However, not many organisations spend on improving the health and hence, the productivity of their workforce. 
 

Our business of creating “Healthy Homes and Workplaces” came about after extensive research of over 20 years by our Promoter and Founder – Mr. Ajay Poddar. We are solving the inherent need of people and organisations to get healthier and more productive and we do this by implementing some of our well researched and patented solutions in the building – be it a home, office, factory or any other establishment. We make the built space work for the health of the occupants of a particular building. 
 

We focus on detecting and mitigating the harmful effects of radiation in a built space. Radiation is emitted from the Earth’s natural sources, as well as from man-made sources (eg mobile phones, computers, wi-fi routers, etc). 
 

Even if people are not working on their personal health, our Radiation Management Solutions ensure that there is a substantial improvement in certain health parameters and lowering of stress, caused due to certain environmental and man-made sources, in an individual’s body. We have till date implemented our solutions in over 2,000 establishments including 3 international airports, 18 oil refineries, manufacturing plants, corporate offices, hotels, educational institutions and homes. We have impacted the lives of over 300,000 people till date. We have recently developed a new product – Envirochip, which takes care of the harmful effects of radiation emitted by mobile phones, laptops, tablet PCs and wi-fi routers. 

GL: What challenges have you faced in establishing your business?

PP: One of the major challenges faced by us that we had to overcome in the initial years of establishing our business was the belief and awareness in people that their living and working spaces can also affect their health and that there are solutions to improve the same without them having to do something for and on themselves. People found the concept of improving one’s health and an organisation’s productivity just by implementing certain solutions in one’s built space too good to be true! We have of course overcome this challenge to a major extent now, as our work and client testimonials speak for themselves. We have worked with very large multinational companies, Indian private sector companies and Public Sector Undertakings and demonstrated results which prove the efficacy of our solutions. 

GL: In your opinion, how does GlobalLinker enable SMEs to grow their business?

PP: SMEs need all the help that they can get in order to scale up fast by acquiring new customers, while maintaining the quality of their offerings and managing their operations, finances and multitasking on various other areas of their business. GL: What is your big business dream?

PP: We wish to be a multinational organisation by 2025. Our dream and wish list is to ensure that all buildings and all people living and working in them can get healthier by implementing our Radiation Management services in their built spaces. For our product – Envirochip, we hope that everyone who owns a Smart Device (Smart Phone, etc), which is more than 3 billion people across the world already, will have an Envirochip fixed on their devices for protection against any potential harm to their health due to the electromagnetic radiation emitted by such devices. 

GL: What is your advice to aspiring entrepreneurs?

PP: My advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is to focus on finding a practical solution to a problem that mankind currently faces or might face in the not too distant future. Don’t spend majority of your time on thinking about what valuations you will get, how you are going to raise capital, etc. I think there is too much focus being laid on these issues in the startup ecosystem in India in recent times. Capital will find an entrepreneur who has a novel, unique and practical solution to a problem. 

The two most important attributes which I think have helped me in my entrepreneurial journey have been self-belief and perseverance. No matter what obstacles you may face from the external environment, if you have these two attributes, success will come. Your business never fails; it is the entrepreneur who fails the business if they don’t believe in what they are doing and are not patient.
